The route follows quiet secondary roads and rural paths, with little elevation gain and is quite accessible. Around km 55, you reach the sea at L’Escala.
Take the opportunity to stroll and explore towns like Castelló d’Empúries or Sant Martí d’Empúries and its beach.
In some of these towns, you may need to carry your bike in stair sections or in areas where cycling is not allowed.
